An Aboriginal women’s art centre supporting Indigenous artists
Nagula Jarndu is more than just an arts centre – it’s a place for stories that have been handed down by the old people to be told in a visual way.
Founded in 1987 by Yawuru women as a way to preserve language and tradition, we have evolved into a vibrant arts and textiles business. Our name, meaning ‘saltwater women,’ reflects our deep connection to the land and sea.
As a not-for-profit organisation, we are governed by seven Yawuru women directors and supported by over 150 Indigenous women members. Together, we empower local artists to create stunning, handcrafted textiles and art to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our community.

Excellent range of locally designed fabrics and clothing. You can buy by the metre or get precut lengths. Loved the designs and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful colourful handprinted textiles and paper prints, soap, candles, tee shirts and earings. The colours and prints represent the feeling of country and dreaming. Very inspiring. Well done Nagula Jarndu ( Saltwater woman)
