Mareeya Pigram
<p>Mareeya grew up in Rubibi, Broome on Yawuru country. </p><p>Through her younger years growing up, Mareeya went out bush hunting and fishing with her dad and his family. On these trips she learnt a lot about the changing seasons such as <em>Laja</em> season (around October-November) is when the wattle flowers bloom meaning the <em>brindany</em> (stingrays) are fat and good to hunt and that <em>Man-gala</em> season (around December-March), the clouds are fluffy which means the <em>gurlibil</em> (turtles) are laying their eggs.</p><p> </p>
