Gabriella Baxter
<p>Gabriella is a Walmajarri-Nykina artist from Fitzroy Crossing. She visually represents the cultural knowledge that has been shared with her from the old people's stories and from spending time on Country. Her art consists of imagery that speaks to her Grandmother's Country, The Great Sandy Desert region of the East Kimberley and through this it becomes a tribute to her ancestral homelands. She is particularly drawn to plant life and water sources, often using the 'jila' (waterhole) symbol in her work.</p><p> </p>
