Maxine is a Yawuru / Bunuba artist currently residing in Rubibi, Broome. She is inspired by the connections and cultural significance between the land and sea country.

The red crab eye seed pod grows a slender vine climber that climbs around trees and shrubs. It is widespread behind coastal dune areas as well as in sandstone country such as Pender Bay, Ardyaloon and Broome. The beautiful red and black seeds of this plant are often made into decorative jewellery.
